AZCA Tower
North of the centre of Madrid, along the Paseo de la Castellana, lies the multilayered AZCA complex. It is enclosed by the football stadium Santiago Bernabeau and Nuevos Ministerios. AZCA was conceived in the 1960s and 1970s as the new business district in response to the overcrowded old centre. During the 1980s some remarkable skyscrapers were built and for a long time this new district was considered the ‘Manhattan of Madrid’. Alas, the mono functional program, labyrinthic internal.
